Job summary

Jawat Johan Sdn Bhd in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah is seeking an Accounts Assistant/Executive to support the finance team. The role is full-time and involves processing invoices, managing ledgers, and assisting with budgeting and reporting.

The ideal candidate should have a Diploma or Degree, fluent Bahasa Malaysia and English, and ideally Mandarin. At least 5 years’ experience with closing final accounts, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in SQL Accounting and MS Excel are preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in accounting or a related field.
• Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English; Mandarin helpful.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in closing final accounts or similar roles.
• Strong analytical skills, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in SQL Accounting and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices, payment vouchers and petty cash claims.
• Handle full set of accounts (GL, AP, AR, Bank Reconciliation) up to Trial Balance/Management Accounts.
• Maintain Fixed Asset Register and record asset movements.
• File audit trails and supporting documents.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting.
• Prepare and file E-INV/SST returns accurately and on time.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, and company secretaries.
• Perform other ad hoc tasks as required.
