Job summary

UPC Chemicals (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an Accounting and Financial Manager to oversee Malaysia's financial, accounting, and tax functions.

The role involves planning budgets, analyzing costs, and reporting to senior management with actionable insights. Multinational experience and Mandarin language skills are a plus. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, 10+ years of financial management experience, and strong collaboration with teams and auditors.

Qualifications

• At least a bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or a related qualification.
• Over 10 years of financial and management experience.
• Experience in multinational companies; hands-on daily work with team members; result-oriented.
• Experience in CPA firms would be an added advantage.
• Language: English, Malay; Mandarin would be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations of the financial, accounting, and tax matters in Malaysia; set goals and design a framework to meet them.
• Develop trends and projections for the firm’s finances.
• Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff with recommended actions.
• Plan, control, and track budgets; monitor differences between actual expenditures and budgets.
• Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and actual performance vs. business plans.
• Conduct reviews for cost-reduction opportunities.
• Liaise with auditors to ensure monitoring of finances; perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

3. Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action.

4. Planning, controlling, and tracking financial budgets and monitoring differences between actual expenditures and budgets

5. Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.

6. Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.

7. Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.

8. Perform all other duties, activities, and responsibilities that the superior may assign whenever necessary
from time to time.

Job Requirement:

1. At least a bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance or a related qualification.

2. Over 10 years of financial and management experience.

3. Experience in multinational companies, must do hands-on daily work with team members, and dedication toward result-oriented.

4. Experience in CPA firms would be an added advantage

5. Language: English, Malay. And Mandarin would be an added advantage.
