Field Service Technician

Job summary

Carrier is seeking a skilled HVAC Service Technician in Malaysia to perform monthly routine service on chillers under a service agreement. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control issues, provide technical recommendations, and support after-sales opportunities.

You will attend technical meetings with customers and contractors, coordinate with various teams, and monitor chillers via Carrier Smart Service Platform while preparing performance reports.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in chiller servicing, commissioning, troubleshooting, or repair.
• Knowledge of centrifugal, screw, or water-cooled chiller systems.
• Experience reading electrical/control drawings and interpreting operating parameters.
• Familiarity with BMS, IoT/remote monitoring, or smart service platforms is an advantage.
• Experience in data centres, industrial facilities, commercial buildings, or large-scale HVAC projects is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly routine service for HVAC units (mainly chillers) under a service agreement.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, and operational issues and provide technical recommendations.
• Attend customer complaints and provide effective solutions.
• Support after-sales service sales by identifying repair, replacement, upgrade, and maintenance opportunities.
• Attend technical meetings with customers, consultants, and contractors.
• Coordinate with customers, contractors, technicians, and internal teams for smooth execution of service activities.
• Connect and monitor chillers through Carrier Smart Service Platform and prepare equipment performance reports.
• Liaise with customer technicians on maintenance and repair schedules.
• Perform 24/7 standby duty (rostered) for HVAC units’ complaints and breakdowns.
• Ensure safety procedures and conduct during service or repairs.
