Job summary

Carrier Malaysia is seeking a hands-on HVAC Technician in Johor Bahru to perform monthly routine service on chillers under service agreements, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and provide technical recommendations. You will- attend customer complaints, coordinate with customers and internal teams, and monitor chillers via the Carrier Smart Service Platform, preparing performance reports.

Preference for data centre or large facility experience and familiarity with BMS/IoT monitoring

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in chiller servicing, commissioning, troubleshooting, or repair.
• Knowledge of centrifugal, screw, or water-cooled chiller systems.
• Experience reading electrical/control drawings and interpreting operating parameters.
• Familiarity with BMS, IoT/remote monitoring, or smart service platforms is an advantage.
• Experience working in data centres, industrial facilities, commercial buildings, or large-scale HVAC projects is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly routine service for HVAC Units (mainly chillers) under a service agreement.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, and operational issues and provide appropriate technical recommendations.
• Attend customer complaints, investigate issues, and provide effective solutions.
• Support after-sales service sales by identifying repair, replacement, upgrade, and maintenance opportunities.
• Attend technical meetings with customers, consultants, and contractors.
• Coordinate with customers, contractors, technicians, and internal teams for smooth execution of service activities.
• Connect and monitor chillers through the Carrier Smart Service Platform and prepare equipment performance reports.
• Liaise with customer technicians on maintenance and repair schedules.
• Perform 24/7 standby duty (rostered) for HVAC units' complaints and breakdowns.
• Ensure safety procedures and conduct during service or repairs.
