Job summary

Oxford Instruments in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain and train customers on Nano Analysis systems, with emphasis on Raman Microscopy and AFM. You will work with EDS, EBSD, and Nanomanipulators, ensuring instrument performance meets specifications and customer expectations.

The role involves on-site visits, pre-sales support, seminars, and traveling up to 60% to support customers across Southeast Asia.

Qualifications

• Material Science or Engineering degree essential, Master’s or PhD desirable.
• Must have experience of working with Raman Microscopy and Atomic Force Microscopy. SEM, EDS, EBSD experience will be a complement.
• Language skills: English (spoken and written).
• Clean driving licence; ability to travel at short notice; no restrictions regarding overseas travel & length of stay.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain assigned systems and provide on-site customer training.
• Troubleshoot and repair systems to return to full operation per specs and timelines.
• Promote maintenance contracts and service products; assist in sales and pre-sales activities.
• Participate in training and development; travel up to 60% to support customers.
