Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Mechanical Field Service Specialist to join our Field Engineering team in Malaysia. You will support on-site installation, maintenance, and planning of rotating equipment for global customers.

After training, you will troubleshoot issues, coordinate with internal teams, and deliver safe, compliant installations. You will need 0–2 years in a mechanical role in energy or O&G, a mechanical engineering degree, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in a mechanical role in energy/O&G or similar.
• Mechanical Technical degree or Engineering degree.
• Basic knowledge of installation and maintenance of rotating equipment.
• Strong customer service mindset and ability to guide customers through decisions.
• Excellent verbal and written English.
• Willingness to travel up to 70%, including offshore facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction to internal teams and skilled labor to ensure safety, compliance and quality.
• Oversee overhaul, troubleshooting and commissioning of rotating equipment at customer sites.
• Prepare and update technical documentation, plans, and briefing reports for customers and cross‑functional teams.
• Ensure internal training and quality documentation is kept up to date per company standards.
• Manage digital tools to retrieve technical documents and manage packing lists, BOMs and drawings.
