Overview.ai in Penang, Malaysia is seeking an Applications Engineer to join as the inaugural local team member. You will maintain and optimize over 100 AI vision cameras across customer sites and assist with new production line deployments.

This role requires strong industrial automation expertise, the ability to work independently across multiple sites, and you will serve as the primary technical contact for Malaysian customers, ensuring swift support and optimal system performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field.
• 3+ years of automation experience across multiple PLC systems.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical circuits with diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes).
• Strong understanding of electrical concepts including NPN/PNP sensor technology.
• Familiarity with PLC ladder logic and ability to modify logic.
• Experience managing contractors or small technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize 100+ Overview.ai vision cameras across Penang customer sites.
• Provide rapid troubleshooting to minimize production downtime.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance and system health checks.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot systems on new production lines.
• Coordinate with HQ engineering teams for system improvements.
