Job summary

GZI Pavilion Sdn Bhd is seeking a Field Application Engineer to conduct on-site data collection, diagnostics, and analysis to support project objectives and field issue investigations.

You will collaborate with clients and internal teams, perform troubleshooting, and manage field projects from planning through completion, including supervision of site staff and hands-on soldering when needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of industry technologies, electronic products, testing methods and equipment.
• Basic hands-on soldering and electronic rework skills; able to use a soldering iron and common hand tools safely.
• Willing to travel frequently and work flexible schedules, shifts, or weekends when required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site data collection, observation, and analysis to support project objectives and field issue investigation.
• Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify technical issues and support root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to understand project requirements, technical needs, concerns, and required support.
• Meet and communicate with end customers to understand field situation, product condition, usage environment, and reported issues; capture relevant data, photos, records, test results, and customer feedback.
• Report field findings and end-customer feedback accurately to suppliers and internal teams for further analysis, corrective action, and follow-up.
• Develop and implement field test or verification plans and prepare clear field analysis, progress, and completion reports.
• Manage assigned sorting, inspection, rework, field support, or other service projects from planning and manpower arrangement through execution, quality control, and completion.
• Coordinate and supervise part-time, temporary, or project staff, including attendance, task allocation, productivity, safety, work quality, and daily output.
• Provide technical support and basic training to clients, suppliers, end customers, and team members on products, processes, or project requirements when required.

About you

Must possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of industry-specific technologies, electronic products, testing methods, and equipment.

Basic hands-on soldering and electronic rework skills; able to use a soldering iron and common hand tools safely.

Good project coordination, manpower planning, and staff supervision skills; able to lead part-time or temporary workers at project sites.

Able to collect and record field data accurately and prepare clear project or technical reports.

Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with clients, suppliers, end customers, and people at all levels.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team; willing to travel frequently and work flexible schedules, shifts, or weekends when required.

Able to speak confidently in Bahasa Melayu, English.
