Job summary

WT Microelectronics 文曄科技(股)公司 is seeking a Field Application Engineer (FAE) in Malaysia to drive design-in activities and provide technical support for customers in automotive, AI, IoT, and embedded systems sectors. You will bridge customers, suppliers, and internal sales teams to promote semiconductor solutions, assist with schematic reviews, and accelerate product development cycles.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years in semiconductors or electronics, hands-on hardware experience, and fluency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5+ years of experience in semiconductor, electronics design, or FAE roles.
• Hands-on experience in hardware design, embedded systems, or power/analog/digital applications is preferred.
• Fluent in English and Vietnamese.
• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Customer-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Results-driven with strong ownership and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical consultation and application support to customers during product design and development stages.
• Promote supplier products and solutions, focusing on design-in and design-win opportunities.
• Assist customers with schematic review, debugging, and system-level integration.
• Deliver product training, technical presentations, and workshops to customers.
• Build and maintain strong technical relationships with key customers, especially in automotive, AI, IoT, and embedded systems sectors.
• Collaborate closely with suppliers to stay updated on new technologies and product roadmaps.
• Act as the primary technical interface between customers and suppliers.
• Support joint customer visits and technical discussions with suppliers.
• Track and manage design-in projects to ensure successful conversion to mass production.
• Coordinate with internal teams (logistics, product marketing, sales) to ensure timely support and delivery.
• Maintain accurate records of customer activities, opportunities, and project status.

Job description

The Field Application Engineer (FAE) is responsible for providing technical support and driving design-in activities for key customers in Malaysia. This role acts as a bridge between customers, suppliers, and internal sales teams to promote semiconductor solutions, support product selection, and accelerate customers’ product development cycles.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Support & Design-In Activities

• Provide technical consultation and application support to customers during product design and development stages
• Promote supplier products and solutions, focusing on design-in and design-win opportunities
• Assist customers with schematic review, debugging, and system-level integration
• Deliver product training, technical presentations, and workshops to customers
• Build and maintain strong technical relationships with key customers, especially in automotive, AI, IoT, and embedded systems sectors
• Collaborate closely with suppliers to stay updated on new technologies and product roadmaps
• Act as the primary technical interface between customers and suppliers
• Support joint customer visits and technical discussions with suppliers

3. Business & Sales Support

• Work closely with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and expand market share
• Support RFQs, BOM reviews, and technical qualification processes
• Drive demand creation and help achieve revenue and design-win targets
• Provide market feedback and competitive insights to internal teams and suppliers

4. Project Management & Coordination

• Track and manage design-in projects to ensure successful conversion to mass production
• Coordinate with internal teams (logistics, product marketing, sales) to ensure timely support and delivery
• Maintain accurate records of customer activities, opportunities, and project status

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 3–5+ years of experience in semiconductor, electronics design, or FAE roles
