Job summary

Wakaba Manufacturing Sdn Bhd is seeking an Operations Executive to oversee the biscuit factory’s overall operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and smooth production. You will manage daily production, quality, maintenance, and logistics, and support the setup and commissioning of a new facility.

You will lead production teams, ensure GMP/HACCP/ Halal and ISO compliance, and work with QA, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and international teams to meet targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in food manufacturing or factory operations.
• Strong experience in production and people management.
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, Halal and food safety requirements.
• Experience setting up or commissioning a new factory or production line is an advantage.
• Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement is an advantage.
• Familiar with ERP/production management systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily factory operations including production, quality, maintenance, and logistics.
• Support setup and commissioning of the new biscuit manufacturing facility.
• Plan and monitor production to ensure on-time, safe, and quality production.
• Manage manpower, ingredients, packaging materials, and production equipment.
• Ensure GMP, HACCP, Halal, ISO and food safety compliance.
• Collaborate with QA, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Japan teams to hit targets.
• Lead, train, and develop production and factory teams.
• Monitor production costs and identify waste reduction and efficiency improvements.
• Troubleshoot production, equipment, quality, and operational issues.
• Drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, safety, and cost.
• Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and authorities during factory setup and operation.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organised environment.
