Job summary

Letrik MK Sdn Bhd in Ipoh invites a seasoned Factory/Production Operations Manager to oversee daily manufacturing activities. You will plan production schedules, coordinate resources, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery while optimizing manpower, machinery and materials.

You will lead a team, maintain quality standards, ensure safety compliance and drive continuous improvement across production, maintenance, and logistics to meet customers' needs in a fast-paced metal fabrication

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, Electrical or related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in factory or manufacturing operations.
  • Experience in metal fabrication or electrical equipment manufacturing is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced factory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the overall daily operations of the factory.
  • Plan and coordinate production activities according to orders, schedules and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor production progress and ensure work is completed on time.
  • Ensure proper workflow and efficient utilisation of manpower, machinery, materials and factory space.
  • Identify operational issues and take immediate action to resolve them.
  • Improve production efficiency and reduce wastage and downtime.
  • Supervise factory workers and allocate work according to production requirements.
  • Monitor attendance, discipline, productivity and work performance.
  • Ensure workers follow company rules, work procedures and safety requirements.
  • Train, guide and motivate workers to improve productivity and work quality.
  • Coordinate manpower requirements with Management and HR.
  • Ensure products and work produced meet quality standards.
  • Monitor production quality and identify defects or quality issues.
  • Work with relevant personnel to investigate and rectify production problems.
  • Implement corrective actions to prevent recurring quality issues.
  • Monitor the availability and usage of raw materials and production materials.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Warehouse to ensure materials are available when required.
  • Minimise material wastage and control unnecessary usage.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of materials and finished products.
  • Monitor the condition and performance of factory machinery, tools and equipment.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and repair work when required.
  • Report machinery breakdowns and operational problems to Management.
  • Ensure machinery and equipment are used properly and safely.
  • Ensure workers comply with workplace safety rules and procedures.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness throughout the factory.
  • Identify potential workplace hazards and take preventive action.
  • Ensure workers use PPE and follow safe working practices.
  • Report accidents, incidents and safety concerns to Management immediately.
  • Coordinate with Warehouse, Purchasing, Sales and other departments to ensure smooth production and delivery.
  • Monitor loading, unloading and movement of materials and finished products when required.
  • Ensure completed orders are ready according to the required schedule.
  • Prepare regular production and factory operation reports for Management.
  • Monitor production performance, manpower productivity, wastage and operational issues.
  • Provide recommendations to Management for improving factory operations.
  • Carry out other duties and responsibilities assigned by Management.

Delivery & Coordination

Prepare regular production and factory operation reports for Management.

Requirements

Diploma/Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, Electrical or a related field is preferred.

Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in factory or manufacturing operations.

Experience in metal fabrication, structural metal manufacturing, electrical equipment manufacturing or a similar industrial environment will be an advantage.

Strong experience in managing factory workers and daily production activities.

Good leadership and people-management skills.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Able to work independently and handle factory operational issues.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Responsible, disciplined, proactive and results-oriented.

Able to work in a fast-paced factory environment.
