Job summary

Ray Tech (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled Facility Technician for a full-time role based in the Johor Bahru District. You will maintain and optimise building systems, including HVAC, electrical and plumbing, to keep operations safe and efficient.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, inspections, fault troubleshooting, and coordinating with external contractors. A recognised technical qualification in facilities management is preferred, with experience in building management

Qualifications

• A recognised technical qualification or certification in facilities management, HVAC, electrical work or a related trade.
• Proven experience working as a Facility Technician or building maintenance technician.
• Knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Proficiency in using building management systems and maintenance software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose technical issues.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces.
• Valid driving licence is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Malaysian building codes and regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot faults to minimise downtime.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to extend asset lifespan.
• Maintain records of maintenance, repairs and inspections.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and building codes.
• Operate and monitor building management systems to optimise performance.
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialist repairs.
• Perform general repairs and maintenance throughout the facility.
• Assist with facility upgrades and improvements as required.

About the role

Ray Tech (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled and reliable Facility Technician to join our team on a full-time basis in Johor Bahru District, Johor. This is a crucial position within our operations, responsible for maintaining and optimising our facilities to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. As a Facility Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all building systems, equipment and infrastructure function efficiently and safely. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your technical expertise directly contributes to the success and productivity of the organisation.

Key responsibilities

Performing routine maintenance and inspections of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and mechanical equipment

Responding promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshooting equipment faults to minimise downtime

Conducting preventative maintenance programmes to extend the lifespan of facility equipment and systems

Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs and inspections

Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and building codes

Operating and monitoring building management systems to optimise facility performance

Co-ordinating with external contractors and vendors as needed for specialist repairs

Performing general repairs and maintenance tasks throughout the facility

Assisting with facility upgrades and improvements as required

What we're looking for

A recognised technical qualification or certification in facilities management, HVAC, electrical work or a related trade

Proven experience working as a Facility Technician, building maintenance technician or similar role

Sound knowledge of building systems, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical and plumbing systems

Proficiency in using building management systems and maintenance management software

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high safety standards

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical fitness and ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces where necessary
