Job summary

Alam Flora Sdn Bhd seeks a senior leader to oversee day-to-day facility and cleaning operations at an ICQS complex, ensuring safety, compliance and top-tier service in a high-traffic environment.

You will drive manpower planning, asset maintenance and cost control while coordinating with clients, authorities and contractors to deliver seamless service excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Facility Management, Operations Management or a related discipline.
• Candidates with FMM Level 5 certification will have an added advantage.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory leadership role.
• Proven experience in managing large, diverse and multi-disciplinary teams, including skilled staff and contractors.
• Strong experience in facility/soft services operations, manpower planning, client management and service delivery.
• Strong understanding of HSE, HIRARC, SOP compliance and risk management in an operational environment.
• Good knowledge of QMS ISO 9001 and EMS ISO 14001 or equivalent management systems.
• Strong capability in problem-solving, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent leadership and communication; commercially minded leader with strong attention to detail, stakeholder management and decision-making skills.
• Able to work under pressure and manage operational challenges in a fast-paced, high-traffic and highly regulated environment.
• Willingness to be hands-on at the site and lead from the ground.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee facility management and cleaning operations across the ICQS facility, ensuring a consistently high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, safety and service delivery.
• Manage manpower, including workforce planning, deployment, productivity, performance and discipline to ensure optimum resource utilization.
• Develop and implement effective operational plans, work schedules and preventive maintenance programmes to ensure smooth and reliable facility operations.
• Drive cost optimisation and operational efficiency through manpower planning, resource utilization, inventory control and process improvement without compromising service quality.
• Ensure vehicles, machinery, equipment and operational assets are maintained in safe, reliable and serviceable condition.
• Ensure employees are trained and competent in SOPs, HIRARC, workplace safety, emergency procedures, cleaning standards and site-specific requirements.
• Lead daily site operations and coordinate closely with clients, government agencies, contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Monitor service level performance, KPIs, customer requirements and contractual obligations, taking immediate corrective action where required.
• Conduct regular Gemba walks and site inspections to identify operational gaps, safety risks and service issues, followed by corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage inventory and consumption of cleaning materials, tools and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and cost control.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, teamwork and service excellence across the facility management team.

This is a key leadership role responsible for leading the day-to-day facility and cleaning operations at an Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) complex. You will ensure operational excellence, service quality, facility cleanliness, safety, compliance and customer satisfaction within a high-traffic and highly regulated environment.

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Facility Management, Operations Management or a related discipline from a recognized university.
