Job summary

IHT Rehabilitation Centre in Johor is seeking a Facility Manager to oversee the whole lifecycle of its facilities, infrastructure, utilities and building services. You will ensure operations are safe, compliant with healthcare regulations and delivered efficiently to support patient care.

You will lead a team of technicians and engineers, plan preventive and corrective maintenance, manage contractors and service agreements, monitor safety and regulatory compliance, and contribute to budget

Qualifications

• Degree in FM, Electrical/Building Services or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities or building maintenance.
• Healthcare/rehabilitation facility experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance operations.
• Experience with CKAPS or healthcare regulatory matters preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Facility Department to ensure day-to-day facility operations.
• Plan and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure reliability.
• Supervise and coordinate facility, maintenance and technical personnel, including external contractors and service providers.
• Manage contractors, suppliers and service agreements, including monitoring service quality and performance.
• Ensure proper maintenance of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, air-conditioning, fire protection, lift and other building systems.
• Monitor facility-related safety, security, cleanliness and environmental conditions.
• Ensure statutory inspections, licences, certifications and preventive maintenance schedules are properly monitored and renewed.
• Coordinate and ensure compliance with CKAPS requirements relating to the facility, premises, building services and operational standards.
• Lead the investigation and resolution of facility breakdowns, defects and operational issues.
• Monitor facility-related expenses and support effective budget planning and cost control.

Job description

The Facility Manager is responsible for the overall management and maintenance of IHT Johor's facilities, infrastructure, utilities and building services. The role ensures that all facility operations are carried out safely, efficiently and in compliance with applicable regulatory, safety and healthcare requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Facility Department, comprising Technicians, Biomedical Engineer, Chargeman and Safety Coordinator, to ensure effective day-to-day facility operations.
• Plan and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure reliability and minimise disruption to operations.
• Supervise and coordinate facility, maintenance and technical personnel, including external contractors and service providers.
• Manage contractors, suppliers and service agreements, including monitoring service quality and performance.
• Ensure proper maintenance of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, air-conditioning, fire protection, lift and other building systems.
• Monitor facility-related safety, security, cleanliness and environmental conditions.
• Ensure statutory inspections, licences, certifications and preventive maintenance schedules are properly monitored and renewed.
• Coordinate and ensure compliance with CKAPS (Medical Practice Division, Ministry of Health) requirements relating to the facility, premises, building services and operational standards.
• Lead the investigation and resolution of facility breakdowns, defects and operational issues.
• Monitor facility-related expenses and support effective budget planning and cost control.

About you

• Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering Electrical, Building Services, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in facilities, building maintenance, engineering or property management.
• Experience in healthcare, hospital, rehabilitation centre, or other complex facilities will be an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance and facility operations.
• Experience in managing CKAPS requirements and/or healthcare facility licensing and regulatory matters is highly preferred.
• Familiar with local authority requirements, licences, permits, inspections and statutory compliance.
• Experience in managing contractors, vendors and service providers.
• Good understanding of workplace safety, statutory requirements and facility compliance.
• Strong problem-solving, planning and coordination skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
