Job summary

Wen Ken Group in Johor Bahru, Malaysia is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to oversee electrical and facilities management in a GMP manufacturing facility. You will implement maintenance programs, coordinate calibration, and support equipment reliability to ensure continuous operations.

Candidates should have a Diploma/Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic or Industrial Engineering, at least 5 years in manufacturing maintenance, and a Chargeman AO certificate.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance/engineering, electrical and facilities management.
• At least a valid Chargeman Certificate (AO) issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga.
• Able to read electrical diagrams and PLC ladder diagrams.
• Experience liaising with government bodies such as JKKP, BOMBA, and DOE.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with JKKP, BOMBA, DOE regarding legal/government operations.

**This position requires reporting to work in Johor Bahru.

Job Description:

Technical Support:

Provide technical electrical support to other departments and recommend improvement strategies.

Support facility modifications and process improvements.

Coordinate installation of new equipment and utilities including FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, and commissioning activities.

Maintenance Programs:

Establish, plan, implement, and execute maintenance programs for facilities and equipment in coordination with superiors.

Manage the calibration program for all critical instruments, measuring devices, and monitoring equipment.

Manage PMA, PMT, and calibration activities for production, utility, and facility equipment to ensure reliability, regulatory compliance, and uninterrupted operation.

Equipment Responsibilities:

• Chiller and AHU systems
• Split unit air conditioners
• Air compressors
• Deionized water systems
• Building maintenance

Operations Management:

Manage and delegate routine operations, repair jobs, and facilities system improvements.

Support the production engineer during periods of engineering manpower shortage.

Budget Management:

Ensure all work is completed on time and within the projected budget.

Continuously monitor spending and forecast budget changes.

Additional Responsibilities:

Carry out other tasks as delegated or assigned periodically.

Legal and Compliance:

Liaise directly with JKKP, BOMBA, DOE, and MOH regarding legal and government operations.

Maintain all legal government records and documents with a proper filing system.

Performance Measurement:

Performance, achievements, and contributions will be evaluated based on meeting and exceeding the Scope of Work & Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set and agreed upon.

Job Requirements

Education:

• Diploma / Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance/engineering, specifically in electrical and facilities management.
• At least possess a valid Chargeman Certificate (AO) issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga.
• Must have electrical handling experience, including working with TNB substation to Distribution Board and Machine Wiring.
• Proficient in reading electrical diagrams and PLC ladder diagrams.
• Experience liaising with government bodies such as JKKP, BOMBA, and DOE.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with a hands-on approach.
• Ability to provide comprehensive reports and maintain well-organized documentation.
• Able to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, and GA drawings.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD is an added advantage.
