PROPAC INTERNATIONAL SDN BHD in Malaysia is seeking a Facilities Technician to perform routine walk-down inspections, monitor power, HVAC, water and gas systems, and log readings. You will participate in plant-wide patrols, maintain access control for keys and tools, and support 5S standards across sub-stations and pump houses.
The role requires 1–3 years of shift operations or maintenance in electronics or cleanroom utilities, with ability to read gauges, controllers and meters.
1. Routine Walk-down Inspection & Meter Logging
Plant-wide Systematic Patrols: Perform comprehensive inspection rounds across all utility areas at least once per shift, accurately recording system parameters on the Plant Operation Patrol Record Form:
Power Distribution: Inspect MV/LV switchgear rooms for current, voltage, kWh meter readings, room air conditioning, flood/water leakage risks, and signs of pest/rodent entry.
HVAC & Chiller Plant: Check MAU/AHU differential pressures, VFD operating frequencies, humidification systems, coil inlet/outlet water temperatures, and chiller loading conditions.
Water & Gas Systems: Inspect tank levels, outlet pressures, and conductivities for raw, RO, and pure water skids; monitor scrubber liquid circulation pump pressures, pH readings, and exhaust fan operations on the rooftop.
Utility Consumption Meter Reading: Log municipal water main meter readings, TNB main electrical meters, and sub-station power meters on a daily and monthly basis.
2. FMCS Central Monitoring & Emergency Response
Central Control Room Watch: Monitor the Facility Management Control System (FMCS/SCADA) continuously. Strictly refrain from muting or modifying audible alarm levels without approval; perform audible alarm functional checks during every shift handover. Archive shift monitoring curves and trend screenshots into the designated shared drive.
Hotline & Helpdesk Response: Attend to the 24-hour facility repair helpline, immediately logging and dispatching personnel to attend to production cleanroom utility alarms (e.g., temperature/humidity swings, low air pressure), filling out the FAC Repair Record Form.
First-line Fault Containment: Promptly execute initial emergency measures for equipment trips (e.g., auto/manual changeover to standby units, reset and restart). In severe cases, isolate hazardous utility lines to prevent incident escalation, report immediately to the Shift Leader and On-call Engineer, and document the root causes on the Operation Abnormality Record Form.
Keys & Tool Management: Maintain full accountability for plant room keys, inspection gauges, walkie-talkies, and safety testing instruments. Maintain the borrowing register for unauthorized staff entry.
Plant Room 5S: Maintain 5S standards (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) across all sub-stations, compressor rooms, pump houses, and mechanical chases. Comply with all workplace conduct policies.
4. Maintenance Support & EHS Assistance
Support facility engineers with filter replacements, chemical dosing replenishment, and routine mechanical preventive maintenance (PM).
Serve as standby observer during high-risk activities (hot work, confined space entry, work at height) and assist with initial field gas testing.
Education: Certificate, SKM, or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (HVAC), or related technical fields.
1-3 years of direct shift operations or maintenance experience in electronics, semiconductor, solar, harmaceutical, or cleanroom manufacturing plant utilities.
Fresh technical graduates with high discipline and technical aptitude will also be considered.
Familiarity with the working mechanisms of chillers, air compressors, pumps, vacuum skids, and electrical switchgear.
Ability to read standard mechanical pressure gauges, digital controllers, and electrical meters accurately.
Holding an Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga - ST) Chargeman Certification (B0, A0, or A1) is an added advantage.
