Job summary

Hartalega NGC Sdn Bhd is seeking a Diploma holder in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering to join the Utility department for installation, breakdown and preventive maintenance of equipment, and to ensure boilers, chillers and air compressors operate optimally. The role emphasizes safety, 5S, and ISO compliance across the site.

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of mechanical-related experience; fresh graduates with a strong attitude and initiative are welcome.

Qualifications

• Excellent organizational and communication skills (English & Bahasa).
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Performs installation, breakdown maintenance and preventive maintenance for all equipment under care of utility department.
• Ensure boilers, chillers and air compressor systems operate in optimized conditions.
• Inspect equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervisor/engineer.
• Identify abnormal or emergency situations and take corrective action.
• Work in shift, on call and overtime as per company policy.
• Maintain general housekeeping and ensure HSE compliance.
• Keep ISO documentation and records up to date.

Job description

• Ensure that the Upkeep of Utility asset & Machinery at optimum running condition and comply with 5S, safety and company’s rules and regulation.
• Practice the HARTALEGA Way, which encompasses SHIELD values, ESG, 5S and Operations Excellence.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs installation, breakdown maintenance and preventive maintenance for all equipment under care of utility department.
• Ensure boilers, chillers and air compressor systems always operating in the optimized conditions.
• Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or required repairs to supervisor/engineer.
• Investigate and identifying solutions to utility problems.
• Identify abnormal or emergency situations and take immediate necessary correction action.
• Performs other duties or special projects as required by superior.
• Required to work in shift, on call and work on mandatory overtime as per company policy.
• Performs and maintains general housekeeping of work area.
• To ensure work safety of all jobs and adhere to company’s HSE policy.
• Any other task that may be assigned by the superior.
• To improve overall equipment efficiency (OEE).
• To liaise with other departments/ plants for any activities related to multiple department involvement.
• To ensure all documents are done and kept properly in compliance with ISO and to keep track of all records. (Checklists, commissioning reports, etc.)
• To always look for ways to reduce breakdown time and prevent breakdown.
• To take care of all tooling and properties given to them.
• To attend all training held and customized to them.

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• Diploma/ certificate in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Work Experience:

• Preferably 1-2 years’ experience in mechanical related industry. However, fresh graduate with good attitude and initiative shall be considered.
• Experience in welding, cutting, and grinding works is an added advantage.
• Knowledge in boiler operation, chiller operation, air compressor operation and genset operation.
• Have experience in air conditioner and FCU operation.

Technical and Professional Knowledge:

• Excellent organizational and communication skills (English & Bahasa)
• Good attitude and meet deadlines of job.
• Responsible, punctual, and ready to commit.
• Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Able to think logically.
