Job summary

Sunway Lagoon Sdn Bhd in Bandar Sunway, Selangor is seeking an Assistant Technical Manager to lead the Engineering team, overseeing maintenance, repair and technical management of facilities and infrastructure.

The role requires a Civil/Structural engineering background, 3-5 years in facilities management within hospitality/entertainment, knowledge of building systems, and proficiency with CMMS and MS Office. On-call duties and driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a technical or facilities management role within hospitality/entertainment/construction/property management sectors
• Demonstrated knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural integrity, safety systems)
• Strong understanding of Malaysian building codes, safety standards and regulatory requirements
• Proficiency in maintenance management software (CMMS) and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and leadership skills
• Valid driving licence and willingness to be on-call for technical emergencies
• CIDB certification or related professional qualifications desirable

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate routine maintenance across facilities (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural)
• Conduct regular inspections of buildings/infrastructure to identify issues and prevent failures
• Prepare and manage maintenance schedules, work orders and technical documentation
• Coordinate with contractors and external service providers to ensure quality and timely project completion
• Monitor compliance with safety regulations, building codes and industry standards
• Respond to and troubleshoot technical emergencies to minimise downtime
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, asset inventories and technical specifications
• Assist in planning and executing capital improvement projects and facility upgrades
• Provide technical guidance to junior staff and site personnel
• Liaise with senior management on budgeting and resource requirements
