Job summary

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot basic electrical, plumbing and air-conditioning issues.
• Attend to maintenance requests and follow through until resolved.
• Perform preventive maintenance checks on HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire safety systems.
• Coordinate with contractors for repair and servicing works.
• Check safety hazards and keep exits and access routes clear.
• Prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact.
• Maintain records of reported issues and completed works.
• Assist with furniture setup for school events.

Job description

We are looking for a hands-on and responsible Facilities & Maintenance Technician to support the daily maintenance and upkeep of ZERA International School. The role ensures that school facilities, equipment and building systems remain safe, functional and in good working condition.

Key responsibilities

Conduct routine inspections of classrooms, offices, toilets, common areas and other school facilities

Carry out minor repairs involving doors, locks, furniture, lighting, plumbing fixtures and fittings

Troubleshoot basic electrical, plumbing and air-conditioning issues

Attend to maintenance requests and follow through until resolved

Perform routine preventive maintenance checks and monitor servicing schedules for air-conditioning, electrical, plumbing and fire safety systems

Coordinate with contractors and service providers for repair and servicing works

Conduct routine checks for safety hazards and ensure emergency exits, corridors and access routes remain clear and safe

Prioritise maintenance tasks based on urgency and operational impact

Maintain records of reported issues and completed works

Assist with furniture arrangement and facility setup for school events and activities

About you

Certificate, SKM, Diploma or relevant technical qualification is an advantage

Previous facilities or building maintenance experience is preferred

Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning and general repair work

Able to perform minor repairs and troubleshooting independently

Responsible, practical and able to work with minimal supervision
