Job summary

HI-P Electronics (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. seeks an experienced Facilities Engineer to lead maintenance of plant facilities, ensure safety compliance, and manage EHS programs.

The role requires a degree in Electrical/Mechanical engineering, at least 4 years in leadership within manufacturing, and a Chargeman certificate. You will coordinate with vendors, drive preventive maintenance, and uphold regulatory standards to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of leadership experience in a related field.
• 2 years and above of experience in equipment maintenance and management.
• Knowledge of national power facility standards, 3R waste management regulations, and compliance laws.
• Honest, calm personality with strong sense of responsibility.
• Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Good understanding of operation machines used in production lines.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
• Valid Chargeman Certificate/Competency Certificate required.
• Relevant experience in electrical maintenance and facility management is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Oversee management of public equipment and facilities (water supply, drainage, air conditioning, compressed air, exhaust, and wastewater systems).
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, and life safety systems to maintain safety standards.
• Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance plans to minimize downtime and repair costs.
• Manage maintenance plans and equipment maintenance budgets.
• Coordinate with external vendors for specialized maintenance work.
• Oversee safe handling and storage of hazardous chemicals and materials; ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians; delegate tasks and provide training.
• Ensure EHS compliance; liaise with government authorities for regulatory inspections and audits.

Job description

Oversee the management of public equipment and facilities, including water supply and drainage, air conditioning systems, compressed air systems, exhaust systems, and pure wastewater systems.

Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, and life safety systems to maintain compliance with applicable safety and operational standards.

Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance plans to minimize downtime and repair costs.

Manage maintenance plans and equipment maintenance budgets.

Identify and resolve potential problems and hidden faults promptly.

Coordinate with external vendors and contactors for specialized maintenance work.

Oversee the safe handling and storage of hazardous chemicals and materials, ensuring compliance with industry safety standards.

Implement and enforce safety, health, and environmental (EHS) protocols, ensuring that all machinery and facilities meet regulatory and company standards.

Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues to minimize production downtime.

Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, including task delegation, training, and performance management.

Take ownership of EHS compliance, ensuring adherence to workplace safety laws and environmental regulations.

Serve as the main liaison with government authorities such as DOE, BOMBA, and safety enforcement agencies for regulatory compliance, inspections, and audits.

Assist in internal and external audits related to facility maintenance, EHS, and regulatory compliance.

Complete any other tasks assigned by superiors on time.

Skill Required

Essential skill(s): Strong planning and coordination skills, equipment failure analysis and judgment, and good problem-solving skills.

Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Electric / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or any related field.

Minimum 4 years of leadership experience in a related field, preferably in the manufacturing industry.

2 years and above of experience in equipment maintenance and management.

Knowledge of national power facility standards, 3R waste management regulations, and compliance laws.

Honest, calm personality, able to endure hardships, and have a strong sense of responsibility.

Result-oriented and ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Good understanding of the operation machines used in the production line.

Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.

Candidate must possess a valid Chargeman Certificate/Competency Certificate

Relevant experience in electrical maintenance and facility management will be an added advantage.
