Job summary

TERAS IMPIANA SDN. BHD. seeks a Facilities Project Engineer (M&E) in Kuala Lumpur City Centre to lead mechanical and electrical facilities projects from planning to delivery.

You will manage cross-functional teams and contractors to deliver on time, within budget and to high safety and quality standards in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, electrical or building services engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years in facilities project management or building services engineering.
• Experience in semiconductor industry is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of M&E systems incl. HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution and building automation.
• Proficiency with CAD or BIM and project management software.
• Good understanding of Malaysian building codes and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee M&E facilities projects within timelines and budgets.
• Conduct site inspections and assessments to identify requirements and risks.
• Develop project specifications, drawings and documentation in collaboration with design teams.
• Manage procurement for equipment, materials and services.
• Supervise contractor activities and ensure compliance with safety, quality and contractual obligations.
• Monitor progress, costs and prepare status reports for management.
• Ensure commissioning and handover of M&E systems to operations.

We are seeking a Facilities Project Engineer (M&E) to join TERAS IMPIANA SDN. BHD. in Kuala Lumpur City Centre. This is a contract position that offers an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in the planning, coordination and delivery of mechanical and electrical (M&E) facilities projects.

As a Facilities Project Engineer (M&E), you will be responsible for managing building services engineering projects from conception through to completion. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, contractors and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role is critical to maintaining and enhancing the functionality and efficiency of our facilities infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee mechanical and electrical facilities projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets
• Conduct site inspections and assessments to identify M&E system requirements and potential challenges
• Develop project specifications, technical drawings and documentation in collaboration with design teams and consultants
• Manage procurement processes for equipment, materials and services required for project delivery
• Supervise contractor activities and ensure compliance with contractual obligations, health and safety regulations and quality standards
• Monitor project progress, track costs and prepare regular status reports for management and stakeholders
• Identify and resolve technical issues, conflicts and risks that may arise during project implementation
• Ensure all M&E systems are properly commissioned, tested and handed over to operations teams
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and maintain accurate records of all project activities
• Collaborate with facilities management teams to ensure optimal operation and maintenance of completed systems
• Experienced in Shutdown maintenance work

What we’re looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in facilities project management or building services engineering
• Experience working in Semiconductor Industry
• Proven experience in managing M&E projects within commercial or industrial settings
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution and building automation systems
• Proficiency in project management tools and software, CAD or BIM applications
• Excellent understanding of Malaysian building codes, regulations and standards relevant to M&E systems
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required
• Professional memberships or certifications (such as IEM) would be advantageous
