Job summary

Terberg Manufacturing & Assembly Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Quality Control Supervisor to oversee daily welding, fabrication, and assembly activities at company and supplier sites. You will monitor progress, ensure adherence to WPS, and report delays or defects.

The role requires a technical diploma, 3 years in welding/fabrication, ability to read drawings, and willingness to travel between locations. CSWIP certification is a plus; driving license is required.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Welding, Fabrication, Manufacturing, or related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in welding, fabrication, automotive, heavy equipment, or manufacturing.
• Ability to read basic engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Practical knowledge of FCAW/GMAW welding and fabrication processes.
• Ability to identify common welding and fabrication defects.
• Good coordination and shopfloor communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
• CSWIP Welding Inspector certification is an added advantage.
• Possess a valid driving license and willing to travel frequently between company and supplier locations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily chassis and cabin fabrication activities at both company and suppliers site.
• Daily manpower, work-in-progress, fabrication status, and production output monitoring.
• Ensure fabrication activities follow the approved production plan.
• Monitor fitting, welding, grinding, and fabrication workmanship.
• Immediately report abnormal conditions or production delays.
• Conduct frequent visits to assigned supplier locations.
• Verify actual supplier production progress against the agreed plan.
• Monitor fabrication jig usage, and production flow.
• Follow up on outstanding fabrication and rework activities.
• Take progress evidence and prepare daily or weekly status updates.
• Escalate quality and delivery issues to the Executive.
• Fabrication Process Control: ensure welders follow the approved WPS and welding requirements.
• Coordinate with supplier QC for fitting, welding, and required inspection activities.
• In-House Fabrication Process Control: supervise in-house fabrication activities and verify welding parameters.
• Reporting and Communication: prepare daily fabrication progress updates and highlight delays.
