Job summary

UHP Gas Sys Technology Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia is seeking a Welding Technician to support welding and fabrication activities.

The candidate should have a technical qualification and 2–3 years of hands-on welding/fabrication experience, with familiarity in GTAW/TIG, MIG/MAG, and stainless-steel work. The role involves reading drawings, assisting with WPS/PQR/WQT, performing basic visual inspections, and supporting welding documentation and NDT activities.

Qualifications

• Certificate/Diploma in Welding, Welding Technology, Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Graduates from MARA, TVET, or other recognized technical institutions are encouraged to apply.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant hands-on welding/fabrication experience.
• Experience with GTAW/TIG, MIG/MAG, or stainless-steel fabrication is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of WPS, PQR, WQT, welding inspection, and welding defects.
• Able to read engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• AWS-CWI certification is an advantage but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Perform and support welding and fabrication activities according to approved procedures and drawings.
• Assist with WPS, PQR, WQT, weld maps, and welding documentation.
• Perform basic visual inspection and identify welding defects or non-conformities.
• Support welder qualification, welding inspection, and NDT activities.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and fabrication specifications.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure welding quality and compliance.
• Support troubleshooting and improvement of welding processes.
