Job summary

RC Precision Engineering Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking an experienced CMM Programmer/Operator to independently develop, modify, and optimize CMM measurement programs using MiCAT for high-precision components.

You will take full ownership of CMM programming, machine setup, and execution on Mitutoyo CRYSTA-APEX systems, perform FAI, in-process and final inspections, and ensure compliance with GD&T and drawings. Strong analytical skills and experience with tight tolerances are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in CMM programming and machine operation within a precision machining / precision engineering environment.
• Must possess proven experience independently creating, developing, and optimizing CMM programs from scratch.
• Hands-on experience handling precision machined components with tight tolerances (< ±0.01mm).
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, dimensions, and measurement techniques.
• Experience in offline programming will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of CNC machining processes and precision manufacturing practices is preferred.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Independently develop, create, modify, and optimize CMM measurement programs using MiCAT software for high-precision machined components.
• Take full ownership of CMM programming, machine setup, and execution activities on Mitutoyo CRYSTA-APEX CMM machines.
• Perform First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and customer requirements.
• Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, dimensions, and tight tolerance requirements accurately.
• Conduct precision dimensional inspections on critical components with tight tolerances (< 0.01mm).
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve measurement discrepancies while supporting root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Verify measurement accuracy through calibration checks and perform routine maintenance of CMM equipment.
• Collaborate closely with production and engineering teams to improve inspection effectiveness and product quality.
