Job summary

Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering in Pasir Gudang seeks an Executive for Structural & Piping to coordinate design, fabrication, installation, and inspection activities for marine and heavy engineering projects. You will review drawings, support constructability assessments, and collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and HSE teams to resolve issues and optimize execution.

Qualifications

• Solid foundation in structural and piping engineering, with a degree or diploma in Mechanical, Structural, Marine, or related engineering discipline.
• Experience in design review, fabrication, installation, and inspection within shipbuilding, offshore, or heavy engineering environments.
• Familiarity with offshore/marine/pressure piping standards and class societies’ requirements.
• Ability to read & interpret technical drawings, isometrics, 3D models, and material specs.
• Strong planning and coordination to track progress, schedules, and resources.
• Commitment to safety and quality with knowledge of HSE practices and QA/QC processes.
• Good teamwork and communication with multidisciplinary teams and clients/subcontractors.

Role Description

The Executive Structural & Piping role is a full-time, on-site position based in Pasir Gudang. This role focuses on coordinating and overseeing structural and piping design, fabrication, installation, and inspection activities for marine and heavy engineering projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements. The executive will review engineering drawings and documentation, support constructability assessments, and collaborate closely with engineering, production, quality, and HSE teams to resolve technical issues and optimize work execution. Daily responsibilities include monitoring progress against schedules, supporting material and resource planning, participating in site walkdowns and inspections, and preparing technical reports and updates for project stakeholders. The role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, supports adherence to regulatory and client requirements, and helps drive best practices in structural integrity and piping reliability.

Qualifications

• Solid foundation in structural and piping engineering, supported by a degree or diploma in Mechanical, Structural, Marine, or related engineering discipline.
• Practical experience in structural and piping design review, fabrication, installation, and inspection within shipbuilding, offshore, or heavy engineering environments.
• Proficiency with relevant engineering standards and codes (e.g., offshore, marine, and pressure piping standards) and familiarity with class societies’ requirements.
• Ability to interpret and work with technical drawings, isometrics, 3D models, material specifications, and construction work packs.
• Strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills, with experience tracking progress and supporting schedule and resource management.
• Commitment to safety and quality, with knowledge of HSE practices, risk assessment, and quality assurance/quality control processes.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities, capable of collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging with clients and subcontractors.
• Proficiency in standard office and engineering software; experience with CAD or 3D modeling tools is an advantage.
