Job summary

Bank Negara Malaysia seeks a seasoned Storage Architecture Specialist to maintain and optimize enterprise storage and data protection across on‑premise and cloud environments in Malaysia.

You will design, implement, and govern storage solutions, ensuring high availability, security, and cost efficiency while aligning with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology.
• Knowledge and experience in enterprise storage administration including backup, restore, archive, replication and disaster recovery technologies.
• Experience with NAS, SAN, Object Storage, SDS and cloud storage platforms. Working experience with Windows, Linux, AIX and virtualization in a large enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain on-premise, cloud storage and data protection strategies aligned to business objectives.
• Identify and evaluate on‑premise, cloud, and hybrid storage solutions, and implement proven technologies to support current and future business requirements.
• Perform storage capacity planning, utilization forecasting, performance monitoring, and optimization to ensure efficient, scalable storage resource management.
• Ensure the availability, resilience, security, and recoverability of on‑premise and cloud storage and backup infrastructure to support business continuity and high service availability.
• Provide advisory and technical expertise on storage architecture, backup, disaster recovery, and data protection principles to support the delivery of emerging ICT solutions.
• Undertake research and feasibility study on storage infrastructure and its related system solutions to ensure its reliability, agility and resiliency for faster business innovation.
• Continuously enhance professional knowledge and provide subject matter expertise on storage, backup, cloud storage, and data protection services to internal stakeholders.

Job description

Maintain the Bank’s systems and storage infrastructure to ensure IT infrastructure and services operate in accordance to the agreed service level agreements. Undertake initiatives in which application of IT/technology (storage and backup-related technology) will enhance business performance that enables the achievements of the Bank’s desired outcomes.

Principal Accountabilities

Qualifications

Academic Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology.

Experience: Knowledge and experience in enterprise storage administration including backup, restore, archive, replication and disaster recovery technologies. Experience with Network Attached Storage (NAS), Storage Area Network (SAN), Object Storage, Software Defined Storage (SDS) and cloud storage platforms. Working experience with Windows, Linux, AIX and virtualized environments in a large enterprise environment would be an advantage.
