Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and refining coffee and beverage taste profiles.
• Conduct sensory evaluation and taste testing of espresso-based, milk-based, and seasonal beverages.
• Help establish taste and quality benchmarks across machines and locations.
• Assist in developing and testing beverage recipes.
• Conduct recipe trials and adjust ingredient ratios for taste, texture and consistency.
• Calculate ingredient usage and cost-per-cup for new and existing recipes.
• Support improvements to product quality while maintaining cost efficiency.
• Test grind size, dosage, extraction time, water temperature, pressure, and other machine params.
• Evaluate espresso extraction, crema, foam quality and cup temperature.
• Validate powder mixing, dissolution, and beverage consistency.

Job description

Lead beverage innovation and taste profile development for coffee vending and beverage systems, ensuring product differentiation, improved consumer satisfaction, and measurable commercial returns. This role is responsible for recipe optimisation, sensory evaluation, cup performance testing, ingredient calibration, and innovation pipeline development with a strong focus on ROI and revenue uplift.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and refining coffee and beverage taste profiles
• Conduct sensory evaluation, taste testing and comparison of espresso-based, milk-based, specialty and seasonal beverages
• Assist in establishing and maintaining taste and quality benchmarks across different machines and locations
• Assist in developing and testing beverage recipes
• Conduct recipe trials and adjust ingredient ratios to achieve the required taste, texture and consistency
• Assist in calculating ingredient usage and cost-per-cup for new and existing recipes
• Support the Project Engineer in identifying opportunities to improve product quality while maintaining cost efficiency
• Conduct testing of grind size, dosage, extraction time, water temperature, pressure and other machine parameters
• Assist in evaluating espresso extraction, crema, foam quality, beverage texture and cup temperature
• Conduct testing and validation of powder mixing, dissolution and beverage consistency

About you

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Nutrition or a related field
• Experience or internship exposure in coffee, beverage, powder, syrup, food ingredients or food manufacturing
• Experience in sensory evaluation and product testing
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Analytical mindset with commercial awareness
