Job summary

Apex Securities Berhad in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an Operations Executive to manage end-to-end client onboarding and due diligence, ensuring proper documentation and regulatory compliance.

You will oversee client data accuracy, documentation and records, including quality checks and audits. You will handle corporate actions and settlements across institutional, retail and derivatives operations, coordinating with custodians and counterparties to ensure timely processing.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Banking or related.
• Experience in stockbroking operations, custody, settlement or financial services is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Bursa Malaysia / Bursa Depository and foreign market transactions preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical, reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end client onboarding and due diligence, ensuring proper documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee client data accuracy, documentation and records, including quality checks and audits.
• Manage and process corporate actions, including rights issues, bonus issues, share splits and dividends.
• Oversee local and foreign institutional trade settlements, including reconciliation and cross-border transactions.
• Coordinate with custodians, depositories, clearinghouses and international counterparties to facilitate settlements.
• Support retail settlement and Bursa Depository activities, including securities transfers and client statement updates.
• Support derivatives operations, including client onboarding, settlement, receipts, withdrawals and reporting.
• Monitor corporate announcements and settlement activities to ensure timely processing.
• Prepare regulatory and management reporting, including relevant BNM reporting requirements.
• Work with Compliance and other departments to resolve operational issues and ensure smooth handover.
• Maintain accurate operational records and documentation for audit purposes.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
• Ensure activities comply with Bursa Malaysia rules and internal policies.

What You’ll Be Doing

Manage the end-to-end client onboarding and due diligence process, ensuring proper documentation and regulatory compliance.

Oversee client data accuracy, documentation and records, including quality checks and audits.

Manage and process corporate actions, including rights issues, bonus issues, share splits, dividends, placements, share transfers and other related activities.

Oversee local and foreign institutional trade settlements, including reconciliation and cross-border transactions.

Coordinate with custodians, depositories, clearinghouses and international counterparties to facilitate smooth and timely settlement.

Support retail settlement and Bursa Depository activities, including securities transfers, e-Dividend and client statement updates.

Support derivatives operations, including client onboarding, settlement, receipts, withdrawals and reporting.

Monitor corporate announcements, settlement activities and portfolio movements to ensure timely and accurate processing.

Prepare and coordinate regulatory and management reporting, including relevant BNM reporting requirements.

Work closely with Compliance, Customer Services and other internal departments to resolve operational issues and ensure smooth account handover.

Maintain accurate operational records and documentation for audit and reporting purposes.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.

Ensure all activities comply with Bursa Malaysia rules, applicable regulations and internal policies.

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Banking or a related discipline.

Relevant experience in stockbroking operations, custody, settlement, corporate actions or financial services will be an advantage.

Experience handling Bursa Malaysia / Bursa Depository, institutional settlement or foreign market transactions is highly preferred.

Good understanding of securities settlement, corporate actions and custody operations.

Strong attention to detail with good analytical, reconciliation and problem-solving skills.

Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external parties.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced financial services environment.
