To prepare the holding company accounts and Group consolidation for a Bursa Malaysia Main Market-listed stockbroking group, drive the Group reporting timetable across all subsidiaries, and manage Group tax and transfer pricing compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare AEHB's company-level accounts, including investments in subsidiaries, impairment assessment, intercompany balances and deferred tax.
- Prepare the Group consolidation end-to-end: elimination entries, fair value and alignment adjustments, non-controlling interests, and the consolidation workings file.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and disclosure notes in compliance with MFRS, the Companies Act 2016 and the Bursa Malaysia Main Market Listing Requirements (MMLR).
- Prepare the quarterly results announcement under MMLR Paragraph 9.22 and Appendix 9B, together with explanatory notes and related party transaction schedules, within the two-month statutory deadline.
- Prepare monthly consolidated management packs across the Group, covering key financial highlights, segmental performance, and variance commentary against budget and prior period.
- Maintain the Group related party transaction register and monitor RPTs and recurrent RPTs against the mandates and thresholds under MMLR Chapter 10.
- Prepare the annual audited financial statements for AEHB and the Group in compliance with MFRS and the Companies Act 2016, together with the Directors' Report and supporting disclosure notes.
- Manage Group tax compliance across all entities, including current and deferred tax computations, CP204 estimates and CP204A revisions, Form C and other statutory filings.
- Maintain contemporaneous transfer pricing documentation for all intercompany transactions in line with Section 140A of the Income Tax Act 1967.
- Act as central coordination point for the Group auditors, covering PBC schedules, audit queries, component audit timelines and resolution of audit differences.
About you
- Chartered Accountant - membership of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, CA(M), is mandatory. ACCA / ICAEW / MICPA / CPA Australia / CIMA recognised.
- Minimum 8-10 years experience, including external audit exposure (Big 4 or mid-tier preferred) together with hands-on group or holding company finance experience.
- Must have independently prepared multi-entity consolidations and consolidated financial statements.
- Prior experience with Bursa Malaysia quarterly announcements and annual reports is essential.
- Solid working knowledge of Malaysian corporate tax and deferred tax, with practical transfer pricing documentation experience.
- Financial services, stockbroking or other regulated environment strongly preferred.
- Strong Excel skills; experience with consolidation tools and ERP/accounting systems.
- Proficient in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Able to hold subsidiary finance teams to deadline without direct line authority - firm, organised and consistent in follow-through.
- Technically rigorous, with the ability to defend consolidation, MFRS and tax positions to auditors, LHDN and the Audit Committee.
