Job summary

Berjaya Hills Resort in Bentong, Pahang, seeks a Housekeeping Manager to oversee daily department operations and ensure Resort SOPs are followed. The role maintains the highest cleanliness standards across guest rooms and public areas, and requires effective staff scheduling and strong leadership in a fast-paced resort environment.

You will coordinate with engineering for maintenance, manage laundry quality, liaise with contractors, monitor inventory, train staff, and respond to guest requests

Qualifications

• Diploma in Hotel Management or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar 5-star hotel.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; additional languages are a plus.
• Ability to lead and direct a team to achieve goals.
• Pleasant personality with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Independent, self-motivated and well organized.
• Proficient with computers and hotel management software.
• Willing to work at Berjaya Hills Resort, Bentong, Pahang.
• Able to work in fast-paced, challenging environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor & supervise daily Housekeeping Department Operations, ensuring all activities comply with Resort Standard Operating Procedures.
• Carry out daily inspection of the resort in all areas to ensure housekeeping standards are maintained at the highest level.
• Implement Best Practices to ensure highest standards of cleanliness and upkeep of guest rooms and public areas.
• Effectively schedule staff to maximize manpower.
• Coordinate closely with the Engineering Department for any maintenance works to be carried out.
• Ensure laundry services are of the highest quality for hotel guests and staff uniforms.
• Liaise with and coordinate the works of the housekeeping contractors.
• Maintain a healthy par level of inventory for all room facilities, amenities, chemicals and housekeeping equipment.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with other departments as well as within the department.
• Keep all employees informed on significant aspects of the resort, communicating with all levels of staff.
• Handle overall supervision of daily inspection for arriving VIPs and special guests as well as requests.
• Respond to all guest requests, situations, complaints and accidents presented to Housekeeping in an attentive, courteous and efficient way.
• Plan, develop on-the-job training for housekeeping staff.
• Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.

REQUIREMENT

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma in Hotel Management or any other equivalent qualification.
• Possess minimum 5 years' working experience in a similar capacity with any 5 star Hotel property.
• Must be able to communicate fluently in both English & Bahasa Malaysia. Additional Language capabilities will be an added advantage.
