Job summary

MISC Berhad seeks an Executive, Fixed Asset & General Ledger to manage general ledger, fixed-asset accounting, month-end closing and financial reporting in line with accounting policies and standards.

This is a third-party contract position; the successful candidate will be employed by an appointed third-party service provider. The role requires strong technical accounting skills and collaboration with auditors and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related
• ACCA/CIMA/MICPA qualification preferred
• Minimum 7 years in general ledger, financial accounting or related roles
• Strong month-end closing, reconciliations, financial reporting and fixed-asset accounting

Responsibilities

• Manage General Ledger and fixed-asset accounting including journal entries, accruals, provisions and adjustments.
• Coordinate month-end closing and ensure accurate, timely reconciliations.
• Review trial balances, financial reports, cost allocations and intercompany transactions.
• Manage fixed-asset transactions: capitalisation, depreciation, transfers, impairment and disposal.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and policies.
• Liaise with business finance teams, auditors and stakeholders on accounting matters.

We are seeking an Executive, Fixed Asset & General Ledger to manage general ledger, fixed-asset accounting, month-end closing and financial reporting activities in accordance with established accounting policies, controls and standards.

This is a third-party contract position supporting MISC Berhad. The successful candidate will be employed by an appointed third-party service provider.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Manage general ledger and fixed-asset accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, provisions and adjustments.
• Coordinate month-end closing and ensure accurate and timely completion of account reconciliations.
• Review trial balances, financial reports, cost allocations and intercompany transactions.
• Manage fixed-asset transactions, including capitalisation, depreciation, transfers, impairment and disposal.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, internal controls and financial policies.
• Liaise with business finance teams, auditors and relevant stakeholders on accounting matters.

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENT

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or an equivalent qualification.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, MICPA or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum seven years of relevant experience in general ledger, financial accounting or related operations.
• Strong experience in month-end closing, account reconciliation, financial reporting and fixed-asset accounting.
• Good knowledge of accounting standards, internal controls and ERP or accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Comfortable with a third-party contract employment arrangement.
