Jaya Grocer in Malaysia is seeking a skilled Category & Merchandising Analyst to analyse demand and supply trends and to develop product assortments. You will manage sales trends, plan ranges and stock levels to hit targets while working closely with suppliers and store teams.

The role offers exposure to planning, promotions, and visual merchandising, with responsibilities across pricing, stock control, and promotional strategy to meet customer needs and drive growth.

Qualificações

• Minimum education: Higher Secondary/STPM/A Level/Pre-U, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent.
• Buying experience in retail preferred.
• Strong negotiation, decision making and problem solving abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; analytical and good with figures.
• Languages: Chinese, Bahasa Malaysia, English.

Responsabilidades

• Achieve sales and margin targets per category plans.
• Layout and manage fast-moving goods categories.
• Track stock deliveries; ensure on-time arrivals and quality standards.
• Check daily stock levels to estimate orders and monitor stock movement using FIFO.
• Verify invoices and delivery notes against purchase orders for accuracy.
• Maintain close relationships with suppliers.
• Expose store operations to planning, promotions, and merchandising displays.
• Develop convenience retailing programs, offers, and strategies to meet customer needs.
• Monitor competitor market, pricing, and demand; adjust promotions accordingly.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and policies; perform ad-hoc tasks.

Get to know the role: Responsible for analysing demand and supply trends, identifying and executing product development as well as establishing the sales and merchandising mix. Manage sales trends, sales figures, planning product ranges and preparing sales and stock plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Achieves sales and margin targets established in the category sales and margin plans.
• Layout for the assigned fast-moving goods categories.
• Tracking the delivery of stocks, ensuring stocks arrive on time and meet the company’s quality standards.
• Check daily stock level to estimate order and monitor stock movement accurately and follow the FIFO system
• To check the invoices and delivery notes against the purchase orders to confirm if the order quantity and prices quoted are consistent.
• Maintaining close relationships with suppliers.
• You will be exposed to store operations in the areas of planning, sales promotions, and merchandising display.
• Develops convenience retailing programs, offers, strategies to meet customer needs.
• Explore the competitor market, pricing and market demand.
• Sensitive to the market trend and customer demand and work out promotion and marketing strategy plan
• To ensure all procedures comply with the company standards and policies
• To perform ad-hoc task as assigned

You should have: Candidate must possess at least a Higher Secondary/STPM/"A" Level/Pre-U, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, others or equivalent
Preference will be given to those with buying experience in retailing
Strong negotiation skills, decision making and problem solving, good communication and interpersonal skills, analytical and good with figures
Required language(s): Chinese, Bahasa Malaysia, English
