Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Events Manager with agency background to lead client development, proposal development, and delivery of corporate events.

You will manage budgets, coordinate with vendors, and ensure profitable projects while delivering outstanding service in English.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in events management with agency experience preferred.
• Experience in corporate events: conferences, launches, galas.
• Knowledge of virtual and webcast events is a plus.
• Strong PowerPoint/Excel and English communication; Malay/Mandarin a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the agency's client portfolio.
• Build and maintain relationships with prospective clients and decision-makers.
• Lead client pitches, presentations, negotiations and proposals.
• Understand client objectives and develop creative event concepts and engagement strategies.
• Source vendors and manage budgets, cost estimates and profitability projections.
• Coordinate with internal teams and partners to ensure successful project delivery.
• Support contract negotiations and commercial discussions with clients and suppliers.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in working in the Events Management industry or related field (especially agency experience) is required for this position.
• Prior experience in corporate events - live conference, launch, gala dinners, incentive trips.
• Knowledge or previous participation in Virtual and Webcast Events will be an added advantage.
• Able to work under pressure and tight datelines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (especially in PowerPoint and Excel).
• Required language: English, including presentation/public speaking skills (Verbal proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin isanadvantage).

Responsibilities

• Business Development & Client Acquisition
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand existing agency's client portfolio.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients and key decision-makers.
  • Lead client pitches, presentations, negotiations, and proposal discussions.
• Proposal Development & Event Solutioning
  • Understand client objectives, marketing goals, and event requirements.
  • Curate creative event concepts, engagement strategies, and experiential solutions that address client needs.
  • Prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and pitch materials.
  • Source and collaborate with vendors, partners, venues, and suppliers to develop innovative event solutions.
  • Develop comprehensive project budgets, cost estimates, and profitability projections.
  • Monitor project profitability and cost efficiency.
  • Support contract negotiations and commercial discussions with clients and suppliers.
• Account Management & Client Servicing
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for assigned clients.
  • Build long-term relationships through proactive communication and excellent service
  • Retain, grow, and maximize revenue opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and partners to ensure successful project delivery.
