Job summary

Private Advertiser in Sabah, Malaysia seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance, servicing and repair of estate machinery including excavators, tractors, lorries, pickups and gensets.

You will establish preventive maintenance schedules, diagnose faults, coordinate repairs and keep precise records of hours, parts and costs per unit.

Liaise with workshops and suppliers to source parts and ensure safe, reliable operation of all equipment.

Qualifications

• Establish and implement preventive maintenance schedules based on operating hours, mileage and manufacturer recommendations to minimise breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan
• Diagnose mechanical faults, coordinate repairs and respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise disruption to estate operations
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure all machinery, vehicles and equipment are in good working condition, safe to operate and properly maintained
• Maintain accurate records of operating hours, servicing, repairs, breakdowns, spare parts usage, fuel consumption where applicable and maintenance expenditure for each unit of equipment
• Manage spare parts inventory, tools, lubricants and workshop supplies, ensuring adequate stock availability and proper control of usage
• Monitor maintenance and repair costs, assess repair-versus-replacement options and ensure expenditure is justified and cost-effective
• Liaise with external workshops, mechanics and suppliers for specialised repairs, servicing and procurement of spare parts
• Oversee genset servicing, routine inspections, operating-hour records and maintenance arrangements to ensure reliable power supply to the estate
• Monitor equipment availability, identify recurring faults and recommend improvements to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency
• Ensure machinery and vehicles are maintained in a safe operating condition, defects are reported promptly and all maintenance work follows applicable safety procedures
