Job summary

Intel in Malaysia is seeking a contract maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance and routine PM activities on production equipment. The role involves troubleshooting, dismantling, reassembling, and calibrating hardware, with support from Engineering for experiments and configuration changes.

The candidate will contribute to data collection, report generation, and PM procedure updates while ensuring compliance and tool availability during ramps.

Qualifications

• Diploma required in a technical field such as Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Electronics.
• 1 year of relevant maintenance experience preferred; fresh graduates may apply.
• Willingness to work shifts and OT as needed; ability to stand long hours.

Responsibilities

Job Description

• Performs preventive maintenance activities on equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize unplanned downtime.
• Executes scheduled PM routines including inspection, cleaning, lubrication, calibration, and replacement of wear parts.
• Performs electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning equipment used in the manufacturing process.
• Dismantles, adjusts, repairs, and installs/assembles equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, and rough sketches or drawings.
• Performs setup, calibration, and preventative maintenance on production equipment, and coordinates with supplier for service and repairs when needed.
• Monitors and analyses all related data to improve and maintain tool performance and address all tool/module related issues.
• Creates PM reports, system failure logs, updates existing PM specs, and creates new maintenance procedures that support overall equipment maintenance and performance.
• Works with Engineering to execute experiments and equipment configuration changes, supports data collection activities, and generally completes tasks per published PM procedures.
• Supports Engineering with equipment troubleshooting through data analysis and controlled experimentation that will meet or improve equipment availability and performance targets, preventing future excursions.
• During factory ramps, works with engineering and construction teams to ensure tools are installed and/or converted per designs and PM readiness is established.
• Ensures PM compliance rate is maintained and escalates overdue or critical PM tasks to the relevant engineering team.

This role offers a one-year contract with the opportunity for an additional one-year extension. There is also potential for conversion to a permanent position, subject to business needs and strong candidate performance.

Work location is in Penang.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualification
  • Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, or related technical field
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant technical experience in equipment maintenance or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Work in normal shift
  • Able to stand long during working hours
  • Able to support OT or 12 hour day shift when needed
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment servicing in Assembly and Finish environment
  • Familiarity with PM schedules, technical documentation, and maintenance procedures
  • Experience with Assembly and Finish equipment is an advantage
• Other Requirements:
  • Strong technical aptitude and preventive maintenance mindset
  • Ability to work with precision instruments and Assembly and Test equipment
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electronic, or mechatronic systems
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and PM methodologies
  • Attention to detail and commitment to PM quality and compliance standards
