Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or related discipline.
• 12+ years of experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment with leadership experience.
• Strong experience in automation equipment development, integration, qualification, commissioning, and high-volume manufacturing support.
• Experience supporting manufacturing scale-up and production ramp in fast-paced environments.
• Knowledge of industrial automation technologies: PLCs, motion control, motors, pneumatics, sensors, vision systems.
• Experience with equipment suppliers, system integrators, and external engineering partners.
• Strong project management, cross-functional collaboration, and communication skills.
• Hands-on, analytical problem-solving with a practical, results-driven approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Equipment Engineering team and provide technical direction, coaching, and development.
• Lead development, procurement, installation, qualification, and commissioning of automated manufacturing equipment and tooling.
• Partner with suppliers and technology partners to optimize equipment design, reliability, and manufacturing readiness.
• Drive equipment strategy to support manufacturing scale-up, NPI, and production ramp.
• Lead equipment troubleshooting and escalation for complex issues.
• Drive improvements in uptime, cycle time, yield, reliability, and OEE.
• Use equipment performance data and statistics to identify improvements and implement CAPA.
• Establish continuous improvement roadmaps for existing equipment and automation systems.
• Implement SPC and equipment monitoring to improve process stability.
• Lead root cause analysis for critical equipment and manufacturing issues.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Controls, Quality, and Product Development to achieve objectives.
• Manage equipment suppliers to meet technical, schedule, quality, and performance targets.
• Support capacity planning, capital equipment needs, and expansion activities.
• Establish equipment engineering standards and knowledge-sharing processes.
• Communicate findings, project status, risks, and improvement plans to leadership.
