Jora Malaysia is seeking an Environmental Officer to monitor compliance with environmental laws on construction sites, implement the EMP, and maintain related procedures.
The role involves inspections, risk identification, waste management, water and air quality checks, reporting, and coordination with project managers, consultants, contractors, and regulators to ensure timely corrective actions.

Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, permits, and project environmental requirements.
Implement and maintain the project's Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and environmental procedures.
Conduct regular environmental inspections and site audits to identify potential environmental risks and non-compliance.
Monitor and control soil erosion, sedimentation, dust, noise, vibration, water pollution, and other construction-related impacts.
Ensure proper management, storage, transportation, and disposal of construction waste, scheduled/hazardous waste, and general waste.
Monitor surface water and drainage systems to prevent pollution, sediment discharge, and uncontrolled runoff.
Coordinate environmental monitoring activities, including water quality, air quality, noise, and other required environmental parameters.
Maintain environmental records, inspection checklists, monitoring results, photographs, permits, and supporting documentation.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly environmental reports for project management and relevant authorities where required.
Investigate environmental incidents, complaints, spills, and non-compliance issues, and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
Liaise with project managers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, local authorities, and regulatory agencies on environmental matters.
Conduct environmental briefings, toolbox talks, and awareness training for site personnel.
Ensure environmental mitigation measures are properly implemented by contractors and subcontractors.
Monitor site housekeeping and ensure environmentally sensitive areas are adequately protected.
Assist with environmental audits, regulatory inspections, and preparation of documents for authority submissions.
Follow up on corrective actions and ensure environmental issues are resolved within the required timeframe.
Promote environmentally responsible construction practices, including resource conservation, waste reduction, pollution prevention, and sustainable construction methods.
Knowledge of construction-site environmental management
