Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an Environmental Officer to manage environmental compliance for a major Design & Build project. You will lead day‑to‑day monitoring, implement controls, and coordinate with consultants and contractors on site.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Environmental Science/Engineering/Management, at least 3 years in environmental management, preferably in construction, with knowledge of regulations, waste management, and pollution prevention. CePSWAM certification is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in environmental management, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Experience in building, infrastructure or Design & Build projects will be an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of environmental regulations, construction environmental controls, waste management and pollution prevention.
  • CePSWAM or other relevant environmental competency certification will be an added advantage.
  • Good communication, documentation and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day‑to‑day environmental monitoring and implementation of environmental controls across the project site.
  • Ensure project activities comply with applicable environmental requirements, approvals, regulations and company standards.
  • Monitor waste management, water quality, dust, noise, erosion, sediment and pollution control at site.
  • Conduct environmental inspections, identify environmental risks and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Coordinate environmental sampling, testing and monitoring activities with consultants and appointed service providers.
  • Prepare environmental reports, records and submissions for project meetings, management and relevant authorities.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager, consultants, subcontractors and site teams to resolve environmental issues effectively.
  • Support environmental audits, inspections and regulatory engagements throughout the project lifecycle.
