We are looking for an experienced Environmental Officer to join our HSE team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring environmental management practices at the project site, ensuring compliance with applicable environmental regulations, project requirements and company procedures.

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring environmental management practices at the project site, ensuring compliance with applicable environmental regulations, project requirements and company procedures.
Implement and monitor the Project Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and ISO 14001 requirements.
Conduct regular environmental inspections covering waste, scheduled waste, chemicals, spill management, dust, noise and pollution control.
Monitor site environmental conditions and ensure compliance with applicable Department of Environment (DOE) requirements and environmental regulations.
Maintain environmental registers, monitoring records, scheduled waste documentation and environmental reports.
Monitor and ensure proper handling, storage and disposal of scheduled waste, chemicals and other controlled materials.
Coordinate environmental monitoring activities and follow up on any environmental issues identified during site inspections.
Investigate environmental incidents and non-conformities and monitor the implementation of corrective and preventive actions until closure.
Assist in preparing environmental reports, inspection records and other relevant HSE documentation.
Coordinate with project teams, contractors, subcontractors and relevant authorities on environmental-related matters.
Conduct environmental awareness activities and provide guidance to site personnel on environmental requirements and good environmental practices.
Ensure environmental requirements are properly communicated and implemented by contractors and site personnel.
Support internal and external environmental audits and inspections where required.
Perform other environmental and HSE-related duties as assigned by the superior.
Diploma/Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in construction or industrial environmental management.
Good knowledge of Malaysian environmental regulations and DOE requirements.
CePSWaM certification is required/preferred.
Knowledge of ISO 14001 requirements and environmental management systems.
Strong knowledge of scheduled waste and chemical management, including proper handling, storage and disposal procedures.
Good understanding of environmental aspects and impact assessment.
Good inspection, monitoring, reporting and documentation skills.
Good command of Microsoft Office applications.
Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
Able to work independently and effectively coordinate with contractors and project teams.
Willing to work at the project site.
