Job summary

JLL in Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia is seeking an Env. Executive (Environmental) to lead end-to-end e-waste management within facilities and client operations.

The role emphasizes safe handling, segregation, storage, traceability, recycling and disposal in line with JLL standards and local regulations. You will drive compliance, sustainability and continuous improvement while maintaining a safe, audit-ready workplace and coordinating with client logistics teams for documentation and data

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in environmental-related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant e-waste, waste management or EHS experience.
• Experience with semiconductor, data center or critical facilities is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Malaysian environmental legislation and waste-management requirements.
• Experience managing contractors, recyclers and environmental documentation.
• Strong analytical, communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with JLL teams, clients and vendors.

Responsibilities

• E-waste collection, segregation, labelling, storage and movement.
• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, JLL procedures and client EHS requirements.
• Maintain accurate waste inventory, movement records and disposal certificates.
• Coordinate approved recyclers and verify licences and service performance.
• Maintain secure, compliant e-waste storage and manage safety risks.
• Support routine audits and close findings within timelines.
• Prepare monthly KPI and waste-generation, recycling and compliance reporting with trend analysis.
• Provide training on e-waste handling and environmental awareness.
• Identify opportunities to improve recycling, reduce waste and boost efficiency.
• Report incidents and support investigations of spills or improper disposal.

JLL – Env. Executive (Environmental)

Function: Facilities / Environmental Management
Location: Penang, Malaysia | Environment: Facilities, semi-construction, low value waste, Solid Waste

Job Purpose

1. Lead and oversee the end-to-end management of e-waste generated from facility and client operations, ensuring safe handling, segregation, storage, traceability, recycling and final disposal in accordance with JLL standards, client requirements and applicable Malaysian environmental regulations.

2. Drive compliance, sustainability, waste reduction and continuous improvement while maintaining a safe and audit ready workplace.

3. Engage with client logistic team for document readiness including ISM (integrated Ship Memo), incoming documents and relevant waste picture for custom declaration.

4. Tracing BAC ticket for work closure within the timeline and arranged with logistic contractor for shipment data and disposal.

E-Waste Operations

Lead collection, identification, segregation, labelling, storage and movement of e-waste.

Compliance

Ensure e-waste activities comply with applicable environmental legislation, JLL procedures and client EHS requirements.

Waste Tracking

Maintain accurate inventory, movement records, collection documentation and recycling/disposal certificates.

Vendor Management

Coordinate approved recyclers/vendors; verify required licences, documentation and service performance.

Storage & Safety

Maintain a secure, organised and compliant e-waste storage area, identify and control environmental and safety risks.

Audit & Inspection

Conduct routine inspections and support client, internal and regulatory audits; close findings within agreed timelines.

Reporting

Prepare monthly KPI, waste-generation, recycling and compliance reports with trend analysis.

Training & Awareness

Conduct e-waste segregation, handling and environmental awareness for employees, technicians and contractors.

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to increase recycling/recovery rates, reduce waste and improve operational efficiency.

Incident Response

Report and support investigation of spills, damaged batteries, improper disposal and other e-waste incidents.

Qualification & Experience

• Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Environmental Science, Engineering, EHS or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in e-waste, scheduled waste, environmental management, facilities or EHS.
• Experience in semiconductor, Data Center, manufacturing or critical facilities will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Malaysian environmental legislation and waste-management requirements.
• Experience managing contractors, recyclers and environmental documentation.
• Strong analytical, communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with JLL teams, client, Engineering, IT, Procurement and contractors.
