Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking an Env. Executive (Environmental) to lead end-to-end e-waste management for facilities and clients in Penang, Malaysia.

The role focuses on safe handling, segregation, storage, traceability, and disposal in line with Malaysian regulations and JLL standards. Collaboration with client logistics, auditors, and contractors is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Environmental Science, Engineering, EHS or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in e-waste, scheduled waste, environmental management, facilities or EHS with DOE Malaysia.
• Experience in semiconductor, Data Center, manufacturing or critical facilities is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Malaysian environmental legislation and waste-management requirements.
• Experience managing contractors, recyclers and environmental documentation.
• Strong analytical, communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with JLL teams, client, Engineering, IT, Procurement and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Area E-Waste Operations: Lead collection, identification, segregation, labelling, storage and movement of e-waste.
• Compliance: Ensure e-waste activities comply with environmental legislation, JLL procedures and client EHS requirements.
• Waste Tracking: Maintain inventory, movement records, documentation and recycling/disposal certificates.
• Vendor Management: Coordinate recyclers/vendors; verify licences, documentation and service performance.
• Storage & Safety: Maintain a secure, organized e-waste storage area and control risks.
• Audit & Inspection: Conduct inspections and support audits; close findings within timelines.
• Reporting: Prepare monthly KPI, waste-generation, recycling and compliance reports with trend analysis.
• Training & Awareness: Conduct e-waste segregation, handling and environmental awareness for staff and contractors.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to increase recycling/recovery rates and efficiency.
• Incident Response: Report and support investigation of spills, battery damage and improper disposal.

• Job Scope:

• 1. Lead and oversee the end-to-end management of e-waste generated from facility and client operations, ensuring safe handling, segregation, storage, traceability, recycling and final disposal in accordance with JLL standards, client requirements and applicable Malaysian environmental regulations. Drive compliance, sustainability, waste reduction and continuous improvement while maintaining a safe and audit ready workplace. Engage with client logistic team for document readiness including ISM (integrated Ship Memo), incoming documents and relevant waste picture for custom declaration. Tracing BAC ticket for work closure within the timeline and arranged with logistic contractor for shipment data and disposal.

• Training & Awareness

  Conduct e-waste segregation, handling and environmental awareness for employees, technicians and contractors.

• Continuous Improvement

  Identify opportunities to increase recycling/recovery rates, reduce waste and improve operational efficiency.

• Incident Response

  Report and support investigation of spills, damaged batteries, improper disposal and other e-waste incidents.
