Job summary

Century Bond Berhad is seeking a qualified professional to supervise the operation and maintenance of our wastewater treatment plant, ensuring reliable treatment performance and regulatory compliance in Malaysia.

You will oversee sampling, testing, and monitoring of key parameters, coordinate with production and maintenance teams, and prepare monthly reports. The role also covers scheduled waste management, safety, and EMS-related activities to uphold DOE and ISO 14001 standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the operation and maintenance of the WWTP to ensure effective and reliable treatment performance.
• Ensure treated effluent complies with Standard A discharge limits under the Environmental Quality (Industrial Effluent) Regulations 2009.
• Oversee wastewater sampling, laboratory testing, and monitoring of key parameters including pH, COD, SV30 and other relevant parameters.
• Monitor WWTP performance trends and coordinate with production, maintenance, and laboratory teams to identify issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Prepare monthly WWTP Operation & Maintenance reports and maintain daily documentation records.
• Ensure proper identification, segregation, labelling, storage, and disposal of scheduled waste in accordance with Malaysian Environmental Quality (Scheduled Wastes) Regulations.
• Provide guidance and support to the PIC at each subsidiary on scheduled waste management and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor scheduled waste storage areas, waste quantities, and storage duration to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
• Maintain and update scheduled waste inventory, e-SWIS records, consignment notes, and other relevant documentation.
• Liaise with licensed scheduled waste contractors and verify relevant licences, certificates, and disposal documentation.
• Conduct scheduled waste inspections and provide training and awareness to employees on proper waste handling, storage and emergency response procedures.
• Support SHE programs and activities including hazard identification and incident investigations.
• Conduct safety inspections across the facility to ensure compliance with OSHA requirements.
• Maintained organized records of safety inspections, including checklists, findings, and corrective actions taken.
• Monitor compliance with applicable DOE requirements, Environmental Management System (EMS) and company environmental procedures.
• Coordinate environmental monitoring, laboratory testing, regulatory reporting and follow-up actions arising from DOE inspections and environmental audits.
• Support ISO 14001 Environmental Management System implementation, internal audits, documentation, and corrective action management.
• Maintain environmental records and coordinate with laboratories, contractors, consultants, and relevant stakeholders on environmental matters.
• Coordinate with DOE, laboratories, consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders on environmental compliance and related matters.
• Prepare Purchase Requisitions (PRs) for chemicals, consumables, spare parts, environmental services, and other operational requirements.
• Obtain quotations from suppliers and contractors and prepare price comparison summaries for procurement activities.
• Coordinate with Procurement and suppliers to monitor purchase orders, delivery status, payment terms, and budget availability.
• Maintain proper filing and documentation of environmental, SHE, WWTP, scheduled waste, procurement, and operational records.
