Job summary

SD Guthrie International Pasir Gudang Refinery Sdn Bhd is seeking an WWTP Executive to lead process tuning, troubleshooting and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant. The role supports regulatory compliance, safety and continuous improvement within a refinery environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional certification in Environmental Management or CePIETSO is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with DOE regulations and Environmental Quality Act requirements.
• Experience in manufacturing/refinery/edible oil/biodiesel/oleochemical industries is an advantage.
• Good analytical, problem-solving and reporting skills.
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Report to the WWTP HOD at SD Guthrie International Pasir Gudang Refinery Sdn Bhd.
• Assigned Engineer (WWTP Executive) for process tuning, troubleshooting, maintenance and improvement.
• Assist HOD in department administration and act on their behalf in absence.
• Improve and maintain WWTP per ISO 9001 and DOE requirements.
• Coordinate with related departments to understand all wastewater processes.
• Coordinate with other departments on wastewater issues.
• Ensure proper running and housekeeping of WWTP including chemical stock, consumables and calibration of instruments.
• Monitor daily analyses by WWTP technicians for accuracy.
• Compile and summarize results; analyze data; provide feedback to operations.
• Review third party results for Online Environmental Report submissions to DOE.
• Review results to ensure smooth WWTP operations.
• Implement safe working procedures and ensure compliance among personnel.
• Communicate with superiors, subordinates, colleagues, suppliers, customers and authorities.
• Perform any other duties as directed by superior.

Job Description:

• 1. Report to the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) HOD at SD Guthrie International Pasir Gudang Refinery Sdn Bhd
• 2. Assigned Engineer (WWTP Executive) for the WWTP covering process tuning, plant troubleshooting, plant maintenance and process improvement.
• 3. Assist HOD in the general administration of the department and to act on his/her behalf in his/her absence.
• 4. Improve and maintain the existing WWTP according to ISO 9001 and DOE’s regulatory requirements.
• 5. Coordinate with all related departments in understanding all plant processes that generate wastewater.
• 6. Coordinate and work with other departments in any issues regarding wastewater.
• 7. Ensure good, proper running, and cleanliness (housekeeping) of the WWTP including stock of chemicals and ingredients, consumables, maintenance and calibration of instrument, manpower deployment and shift arrangement and other employee affairs.
• 8. Monitor the daily analysis done by WWTP technicians to ensure its accuracy and reliability.
• 9. Compile and summarize results, conduct analysis of data using available tools and give timely feedback to the operation team.
• 10. Compile, review and analyze third party results for submission of Online Environmental Report for Department of Environment and any other report related to compliance.
• 11. Review and analyze results to ensure smoothness of WWTP operations.
• 12. Implement safe working procedures and ensure its implementation among the personnel in the department.
• 13. Communicate with superiors, subordinates, colleagues from other departments, suppliers, customers, and authorities.
• 14. Perform any other duties as directed by superior from time to time

Ideal Candidate

• 1. Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or any related discipline.
• 2. Professional certification in Environmental Management or Certified Environmental Professional in Industrial Effluent Treatment (CePIETSO) is an added advantage.
• 3. Familiarity with DOE (Department of Environment) regulations and Environmental Quality Act requirements.
• 4. Experience in manufacturing, refinery, edible oil, biodiesel, oleochemical, or related industry is an advantage.
