Job summary

Gultech (Malaysia)Sdn Bhd is seeking a qualified facilities engineer to lead the operation and maintenance of critical utility systems, including WWTP, RO/CEDI, scrubber and dust collection equipment.

The role requires reading P&ID and drawings, strong leadership, and experience with DOE regulations, environmental safety, and ISO standards. You will coordinate with Production, Engineering, and EHS teams to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-efficient manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5-10 years’ experience in facilities/utilities, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of WWTP, water treatment and air pollution control systems.
• Able to read P&ID and engineering drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting, leadership and project coordination skills.
• Knowledge of Malaysia DOE regulations, Scheduled Waste and chemical safety.
• CePIETSO / DOE competency certification is an added advantage.
• Familiar with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Chinese is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead operation and maintenance of WWTP, RO/CEDI, scrubber and dust collection systems.
• Monitor system performance, environmental compliance and key operating parameters.
• Lead technicians, contractors and service providers to ensure smooth daily operation and maintenance.
• Drive system optimization, reliability, cost reduction and resource efficiency.
• Manage environmental compliance, including DOE requirements, Scheduled Waste and chemical safety.
• Coordinate facility improvement projects, audits, inspections and regulatory submissions.
• Prepare annual operating and maintenance budgets and improvement plans.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering and EHS teams to support manufacturing operations.
