Job summary

AirAsia Malaysia seeks an Enterprise Application Platforms & Automation Lead to provide technical leadership and ownership of enterprise platforms across ITSM, asset management, monitoring, observability and automation. You will lead a team of application specialists while driving platform implementation, integration, automation, solution design and complex technical troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• 6–8+ years of experience in enterprise applications, technology platforms, IT operations, ITSM, application support or a related technology environment, with proven experience taking ownership of business-critical platforms.
• 3+ years of experience in technical leadership, including leading, mentoring or managing application/platform engineers or administrators.
• Proven experience in implementing and managing enterprise application platforms, including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, integration and ongoing optimisation.
• Strong experience in ITSM/service management, workflow platforms, asset management/CMDB, monitoring, observability, application management or enterprise automation.
• Strong understanding of system integration and API technologies, including REST APIs, webhooks, authentication, JSON/data exchange and integration troubleshooting.
• Practical experience in automation and scripting, with proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language such as Python, PowerShell, Bash or Google Apps Script, and the ability to develop, modify and troubleshoot automation solutions.
• Working knowledge of Linux/Red Hat or equivalent operating environments, with sufficient technical depth to troubleshoot application, integration and infrastructure-related issues.
• Strong experience in technical troubleshooting, incident/problem management and root-cause analysis, particularly for issues involving multiple applications, integrations or infrastructure components.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement solutions to complex business and operational problems, with a mindset focused on automation, scalability, reliability and continuous improvement.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions, work with vendors and cross‑functional teams, and translate complex technical matters into clear recommendations for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the overall technical direction of enterprise application platforms covering ITSM, workflow, asset management/CMDB, monitoring, observability and automation.
• Lead and develop a team of application/platform specialists, providing technical guidance, coaching, solution reviews and escalation support for complex issues.
• Drive end-to-end platform implementation and transformation, from requirements gathering and solution design through configuration, integration, testing, deployment and operational handover.
• Build and enable integrations between enterprise applications using APIs, webhooks, middleware and other integration technologies to create a connected and efficient application ecosystem.
• Champion automation and operational efficiency by identifying manual and repetitive processes and developing sustainable automation solutions using scripting and automation technologies.
• Solve complex technical problems by conducting structured troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across applications, integrations, APIs, databases and underlying infrastructure.
• Design practical and scalable solutions by translating business and operational requirements into technical solutions that are secure, supportable and aligned with enterprise architecture.
• Drive continuous improvement and platform optimisation, including performance, reliability, usability, governance, standardisation and reduction of operational dependencies.
• Establish platform governance and technical standards, ensuring appropriate documentation, change management, security controls, lifecycle management and knowledge sharing.
• Partner with technology and business stakeholders to identify opportunities, evaluate new technologies and deliver solutions that improve service quality, operational resilience and employee experience.
