Job description

We are looking for a passionate, patient and responsible English Teacher to join our English language training centre in Kuala Lumpur.

The main responsibility of this role is to teach Basic English, Everyday English and General English to students with different levels of English proficiency, especially beginner and elementary learners.

The teacher should be able to explain English grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and sentence structures clearly and patiently, and help students build confidence in using English in everyday communication.

As some of our learners may require additional support when learning basic English, the ability to communicate in Mandarin and provide simple explanations when necessary is an important requirement for this position.

Key Responsibilities

Teach Basic English, Everyday English and General English to students with different English proficiency levels.

Teach both individual and group classes.

Explain English grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and sentence structures in a simple and easy-to-understand way.

Use Mandarin when necessary to provide additional support to learners who need help understanding basic English concepts, instructions or explanations.

Prepare engaging, practical and level-appropriate English lessons.

Adapt teaching methods according to students' English levels and individual learning needs.

Help students develop confidence in using English in everyday communication.

Monitor students' learning progress and provide constructive feedback.

Maintain good classroom management and create a positive learning environment.

Communicate professionally with students and parents when required.

Participate in teacher meetings, training sessions and academic activities.

Support the development and continuous improvement of English programmes.

Complete teaching-related administrative and academic tasks when required.

About You

Strong spoken and written English skills.

Clear and understandable English pronunciation.

Good Mandarin communication skills are required for this position.

Able to use Mandarin appropriately to support learners who need additional help understanding basic English.

Patient, friendly and encouraging teaching style.

Able to explain English grammar, vocabulary and sentence structures clearly and effectively.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Comfortable teaching both individual and group classes.

Experience teaching beginner or elementary English learners is an advantage.

Previous English teaching experience is preferred.

TESOL, TEFL, TESL or other relevant teaching qualifications are an advantage.

Responsible, punctual and professional.

Able to work independently and as part of a teaching team.

Currently based in Malaysia and legally eligible to work in Malaysia.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday

9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

1-hour meal break

Approximately 6 teaching hours per day

Remaining working hours will be allocated to:

Student progress review

Teaching administration

Teacher meetings

Academic planning

Other teaching-related duties

The teacher is expected to follow the centre's timetable and teaching schedule.

The teacher may be assigned to one of our English language training centre locations depending on class schedules and operational needs:

The specific teaching location may vary according to the assigned timetable and operational requirements.

Monthly salary of RM2,800 – RM3,500
