Job summary

TF-AMD Penang is seeking an Assembly Engineering professional to manage critical testing and assembly equipment at Bayan Lepas. You will establish procedures, perform preventive maintenance, and resolve complex tester and PCB issues to improve performance and uptime.

Responsibilites include leading equipment development, coordinating with vendors, and driving yield and cost reductions while supporting new product testing and manufacturing transitions. Fresh graduates may be considered.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related field.
• 0–5 years of relevant experience in a technical/engineering/manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage Assembly Engineering equipment and processes.
• Set operating procedures and preventive maintenance to maximize uptime.
• Diagnose equipment, tester, load board, and PCB issues to component level.
• Lead equipment development, installation, qualification and improvement; support new product testing.
• Coordinate with vendors; manage spare parts, inventory and training.
• Drive yield improvement, test time optimization, and cost reduction.
• Manage NPI activities including EVT/DVT, buyoff units and test readiness.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Design, Quality and Failure Analysis teams.
• Manage product sustaining activities including performance and cost improvements.
• Support product and NPI feasibility, characterization and qualification.
• Initiate continuous improvement projects and process optimization.
• Maintain Advantest V93k testers and TEL probers; troubleshoot tester-prober interfaces.
• Perform routine PMs, calibrations, and correlation runs.
• Ensure test equipment uptime and fast recovery during downtime.

Job description

• Managing the Assembly Engineering machine related to:
• Manage SLT and ATE equipment, establish operating procedures and preventive maintenance programs, and maximize equipment uptime while minimizing downtime.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment, tester, load board, and PCB issues down to component level, implementing engineering solutions to improve equipment performance, quality, and efficiency.
• Lead equipment development, installation, qualification, and improvement; support new product testing and manufacturing processes; and coordinate with vendors while managing spare parts, inventory, and technical training.
• Drive yield improvement, test time optimization, product quality enhancement, and cost reduction while resolving product and margin issues.
• Manage NPI activities, including test flow development, EVT/DVT engineering, buyoff units, and test program readiness to ensure a smooth transition to volume manufacturing and achieve target yields.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Design, Quality, and Failure Analysis teams to resolve product excursions, manage material review board cases, define project requirements, and align resources to meet project objectives.
• Management of product sustaining activities which include driving product performance improvement (yield, quality, etc.) and cost reduction
• Support product/product NPI in feasibility, characterization and qualification.
• Initiate/implement continuous improvement projects, process optimization and characterization for continual improvement.
• Drive yield, quality and productivity improvement program.
• Support and maintain Advantest V93k testers and TEL probers (e.g., TEL Prexio XL & TEL Prexa).
• Troubleshoot tester-prober interface issues (e.g., contact fails, alignment, comm errors).
• Perform routine PMs, calibrations, and correlation runs.
• Ensure test equipment uptime and fast recovery during downtime.
• Coordinate with vendors for tool maintenance and upgrades.
