Job summary

Microtronics Technology Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Product Test Engineer to develop, implement, validate and maintain comprehensive product testing solutions for PCB assemblies.

• NPI, test validation or production transfer experience is advantageous.

Job description

Responsible for developing, implementing, validating and maintaining product testing solutions to ensure the functionality, reliability and quality of PCB assemblies. Perform product testing, verification, troubleshooting and failure analysis to meet customer specifications, engineering standards and manufacturing requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including NPI, Production, Quality Assurance and Process Engineering, to support new product introduction, production activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

Develop, implement and maintain product test programs, test procedures, specifications and methodologies in accordance with product requirements, customer specifications and engineering standards.

Perform product testing, verification and validation for new products, engineering changes, production transfers and existing production models.

Troubleshoot product test failures, analyse test results, conduct root cause investigations and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

Collaborate with NPI, Production, Quality Assurance and Process Engineering teams to support new product launches, resolve testing issues and ensure smooth production operations.

Monitor test coverage, yield, failure trends and testing performance, and recommend improvements to enhance test effectiveness, product quality, reliability and productivity.

Maintain test documentation, validation records, test specifications, technical reports and other relevant engineering documents in accordance with company procedures and quality requirements.

Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product testing methods, test processes and equipment performance.

About you

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Basic to advanced knowledge of electronic circuits, PCB assemblies, product testing methods and troubleshooting techniques, depending on experience level.

Ability to operate relevant test equipment, analyse test results and identify product testing issues.

Good analytical, problem-solving, documentation and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Relevant experience in test engineering within the electronics or PCB manufacturing industry is an advantage.

Experience in NPI (New Product Introduction), test validation and production transfer is an advantage.
