Job summary

Prudential Hong Kong Limited seeks an Engineering Lead to guide the technical direction of the team in Kuala Lumpur. The role combines platform engineering, hands-on development, solution architecture and leadership responsibilities.

You will define and drive the technical vision, oversee CI/CD and release processes, and lead design of scalable, secure applications while mentoring engineers and ensuring best practices across the stack.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• ~5 years of experience within financial services.
• ~12 years of experience in development and 5 years in a senior engineering role.
• Strong experience leading full stack development.
• Good understanding of DevOps pipeline (CI/CD, containerisation, test automation, automated deployment).
• Good understanding of Agile principles.
• Risk, Compliance and Audit Domain Knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive technical vision, strategy and roadmap in alignment with organisational goals.
• Oversee technical aspect of initiatives including system design, CI/CD, testing and release pipeline, deployment.
• Hands-on development to design and implement application frameworks/platform and common/reusable functionality.
• Lead technical evaluation of vendor platforms.
• Collaborate with vendor and internal delivery teams to drive business solutions and technical excellence.
• Define and enforce engineering best practices, including coding standards and DevOps practices.
• Make critical architectural and technical decisions for scalability, reliability, maintainability.
• Create and maintain architecture and high-level design documentation.
• Drive solution approval with Group Solution Review Committee.
• Provide technical guidance to resolve challenging issues.
• Stay current with technologies and best practices; drive innovation.
