Prudential Services Asia is seeking an accomplished Engineering Lead to guide the technical direction of the team, ensuring high standards of software quality and developer growth. You will oversee system design, CI/CD pipelines, testing, and deployments across multiple initiatives.

The role combines platform engineering, design, hands-on development and leadership to drive scalable, reliable solutions for financial services. Strong experience in full stack development and DevOps is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• ~12 years of development experience with ~5 years in a senior engineering role.
• Strong experience leading full stack development and delivery of financial services projects.
• Good understanding of DevOps pipeline: CI/CD, containerisation, test automation and automated deployment.
• Strong Agile principles and risk, compliance and audit domain knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive technical vision, strategy and roadmap aligned with organisational goals.
• Oversee technical aspects including system design, CI/CD, testing and release pipeline.
• Hands-on design and implementation of application frameworks and reusable components.

Overview

We are seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Engineering Lead who is responsible guiding the technical direction of the team, ensuring high standards of software quality and guiding technical team members to reach their potential. This role involves a mix of platform engineering and design, hand-on development, solution architecture and leadership responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities

• Define and drive technical vision, strategy and roadmap in alignment with organisational goals.
• Oversee technical aspect of initiatives including system design, CI/CD, testing and release pipeline, deployment.
• Hand on responsibility to design and implement application frameworks/platform and common/reusable functionality.
• Lead technical evaluation of vendor platforms.
• Work with both vendor and internal delivery teams to drive business solutions and deliver technical excellence.
• Define and enforce engineering best practices, including coding/implementation standards, testing and DevOps practices.
• Make critical architectural and technical decisions to ensure scalability, reliability and maintainability.
• Create and maintain architecture and high-level design documentation.
• Drive solution approval with Group Solution Review Committee.
• Provide technical guidance to resolve challenging technical issues.
• Stay current with technologies and best practices and drive innovation through technology thought leadership.
• Lead efforts in automation, deployment and monitoring to ensure efficient, high-quality releases.
  
  
  

Experience And Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• ~ 5 years of experience within financial services.
• ~ 12 years of experience in development and 5 years in a senior engineering role.
• Strong experience leading full stack development
• Good understanding of DevOps pipeline e.g. CI/CD, containerisation, test automation, automated deployment.
• Good understanding of Agile principles
• Risk, Compliance and Audit Domain Knowledge is a plus.
  
  
  

Technologies and Tools

• Deep understanding of end to end Application Technology Stack including:
• Web Technologies (e.g. ReactJS, Javascript, HTML etc)
• Backend Services (e.g. Java, Python, Spring, BPMS etc)
• Integration Services (e.g. REST API, Kafka, MQ etc)
• Databases and Reporting (e.g. Postgres, MS SQL, Spark, Power BI etc)
• Application Security (e.g. SAML, OAuth2, data at rest and data in transit security etc)
• Experience in Cloud architecture (SaaS/PaaS/IaaS).
• Good understanding of DevOps pipelines
• Familiarity with Architecture/Design Diagramming tools
